I think my favorite 80s style – one I actually love, rather than just get ironically amused by – is the 80s art deco revival. It has clear art deco influences, yet remains distinctly 80s. Art deco lines, 80s colors, and a clear fascination with vases.

There was a series of longstitch needlepoint kits from Monarch Horizons, designed by Roger Reinardy. I aim to collet them all, and at least one eludes me (because when I saw it, it was just too expensive).

As this was one of my earlier pieces, I don’t have a lot of details or progress photos. According to the timestamp on the ones I do have, I began in November 2021 and finished in June 2022. I stitched on it only during my half hour lunch breaks at work.
